Carlton Hill is a friendly and inclusive, one-form entry school. We celebrate our rich and diverse local community and work hard to promote our vision ‘Kind Hearts and Curious Minds’ with everyone. This recent feedback from another professional: “kindness and nurture pervades this school,” reflects the atmosphere of Carlton Hill.
At our school, good teaching is not ‘giving the answers’ but inspiring children to want to find out more. We encourage children to be brave, take risks and enjoy the struggle (and the satisfaction!) of grasping new ideas. With a 'love of learning' and plenty of effort, we believe that all children can learn new things, so instead of saying, “I can’t do it!” we say, “I can’t do it… yet!”

Golden Rules: Ready, Respectful, Kind and Safe
We have a simple set of Golden Rules which were developed with the whole school community. They help grow positive relationships between children, staff and families.
